Derek Works on  Groundworks for his New Office.

In this post I share what Derek has been up to while I’ve been gardening, painting and organising the household. I also want to point out that Derek is not retired; he has a business to run. He’s very lucky to have a daughter who works with him.  So as he’s not retired he has to  juggle his time between building and business.

We have long days here in Scotland as it’s summer and on the other hand his clients are mostly in a different time zone to us so his business work runs on in the evening while he builds in the mornings and weekends.

I have some exciting creative projects that I am brewing and I will start once Derek is finished with the building. It’s a secret but a clue is something about a ‘hobbit house’ and it will include painting. Once I have finished the project I will unveil it to you. So I hope he finishes as soon as possible.

  4. Sounds very mysterious Morag, …now, …no way I can inveigle more details? No? 😉… Hmmm, Hobbit House you say? ( you know I’ve always wanted to own one of those., ever since I saw that they’d actually built them for the film) …💙

      • Thank you Penn! Things have been stressful buildingwise but we’re still here on terra firma. Something has happened on my computer and I can’t get in.
        (I’m using my phone for now and Derek’s been so busy either running the business or climbing up ladders and scaffolding. I really need to tie him down to help me 😉)

        I’m thinking I might write a post on my phone.

      • I’m fine, Morag, and it’s so lovely to hear from you, even though things seem stressful, … building wise and with your computer, … hoping your phone allows you to write a post. I’ve never tried it myself., .. I just make do with my iPad, … I used to have a tower PC,… But that died a death, and I must admit, I don’t think I could do without my iPad now, … and I think they say today is the first day of Autumn, so the year is working its way through so fast, … take care my friend, and hope to hear about an update soon, …hugs …🍁💙🍁

    • Thank you so much, I will pass your message on to him. His father has a building company and Derek remembers playing with the builders and being pushed in the wheelbarrow. I think he genuinely still thinks of building as his playground 😂. Thank you for the hobbit house wishes 😉
