Joy: A Shift to the Familiar

Joy A Shift to the Familiar

Joy joy
Joy can be a choice
Of looking for the good and beautiful
Of being grateful
For all that I already have
The fields and flowers
The clothes on my back
The food I ha to eat

Joy joy
Joy can be sheer delight
A gift from an unexpected person
Or an old friend showing up
And long awaited luggage
Arriving.
Opening up and finding
Old belongings
So precious,
Lightens my heart.
Familiar clothes,
Comfortable,
Making me feel
Like I am home.

What a joy! We are on the final stretch of moving our belongings in. Projects in life can take a long time to finish, they can feel frustrating when things don’t look like they are working out but one thing is for sure life doesn’t usually come easy. It needs to be worked at, it needs persistence and patience.

These are two qualities that I have had ample time to learn. I am going to keep these two qualities in my ‘toolkit of life’ and put them to good use in my future projects.

May your day be filled with gems of joy.

Take care

  1. I’m loving this post ❤️You’re so right, joy is all about finding the good stuff and being grateful for what we already have. You’re almost done with that move – hang in there, and may your day be filled with even more joy 🙌

  2. I have found that almost any worthwhile goal takes time and persistence, and is accompanied with occasions when I feel a surge of pride over the progress I am making, and plenty of occasions when I feel frustrated and a bit discouraged! But looking for those little positives (like a beautiful sunset, or the packages arriving) makes all the difference. They can have such a profound effect on my mood. Thanks for sharing your journey with us.
