I am taking the time to let my followers know that I am fine. I know that when people I follow just stop blogging I often wonder “did they get sick?” or worse “did they die?” Well I maybe stating the obvious but I have taken a break from blogging. My last blog was in August.
Review
As my life changes with age, and location, I ask myself questions about what it is that I want to tell you. So often, as writers, we are encouraged to write what readers want to hear as if we are some commercial commodity. This is very good advice for those who want to make money from the public. My view is that I have a voice to share life’s experiences for those who want to hear. Anyone who knows me well knows I want to live authentically and own an honest voice.
My ‘honest’ writing voice grew from my initial aim to commit to writing regularly and develop the skill of writing. You could say I found my voice. I am evaluating where I have come from and how I plan to go forward since it has been about seven years since I started this blog. The aim of my blogging was never to “journal” or “diarize” my everyday life. I might have hoped that in sharing my experiences of traveling that someone could be encouraged to explore some part of the world we live in; or when I shared about my brush with breast cancer I had hoped that I could encourage and inform about the process some of us go through – to bring understanding; my poems were poems of hope, joy or compassion and in sharing in this manner I am sure you have got to know me in some way but my aim was never to show myself off and always to encourage you.
My voice grows and it changes with me.
Sometimes my blog became the receptacle or ‘hold-all’ for bits of stories, humor or sarcasm, and even anger. I am not sure if this gives a false impression of who I am or glimpses of what’s beneath. Yes, of course, I have many different facets to me and I don’t mind you getting to know me just as I have got to know many of you. My aim is not to show off or parade my thoughts for you. My aim is not to sell or convince you of anything although I have very definite views about the world, politics, spirituality and the like. I am becoming more “me” as you, hopefully, are becoming more “you” and that is a beautiful state of affairs.

I will keep the comments turned on but I may turn them off at times because I am not looking for flattery or positive feedback or aggressive argumentation. I have always been delighted to communicate with you and have had wonderful conversation in the past; this is the part of blogging that I have missed most. I have missed you. I hope to pick up with you and continue into the future but if you have not missed me don’t feel obliged to continue reading my posts.
My pace and tempo have altered with the seasons, months, adjustments and keeping up with making a new life for us in a different country. Expect a syncopation and offbeat from here on.

I have been blogging for about twelve years. I like the way my stories and sharing have touched some people. I enjoyed writing them as well as some weird experiences that I had, about my married life, about how I changed and became a stronger woman. I have slowed way down on writing new posts.I am not sure where this will go. I have made some friends and found some new readers. But my life is evolving and changing. I did renew my site for Word Press, but my posts will likely be fewer each week. Hope we can chat someday soon.

So happy to see you back, Morag! Sometimes I don’t get notifications of some posts, so I periodically checked your site. I endorse what you say. I strong feel that we should write what we feel, which also facilitates exchange of ideas. Keep writing!
