Creating Space to Breathe

I am always going on about finding time or creating space to ‘breathe’. There are many ways to do it and this weekend we went for a little picnic. The place we went to is along the river, in the next town of Innerleithen, called St Ronan’s wells.

We had had a busy week and it would have been so easy just to keep going at a pace but I was grateful for the time, slowing down to do nothing, but just revel in the peace and quiet of St Ronan’s wells. There was live music, gently playing, in the background and a lovely garden to enjoy. Looking above and behind there was a forest. It struck me that it was a perfect place for those that wanted to go forest bathing, or find a pretty spot for a secluded picnic; and in front there was enough buzz for outgoing people who enjoy re-charching in the company of others.

After eating and soaking up the peace, it was time to leave. I felt like I had been away from the normalcy of my life and I was recharged and refreshed again, ready and inspired to work in my little garden in the evening.

Here is a little video of the surroundings. Enjoy.

I hope you also felt the peace in the little video. Happy Mother’s day to all our mothers.

Take care

PS here is a link to some lovely forests where we live.

    • Yes there’s water in the well and coming up all over near the well as it is a spring. The water is sulphurious, although you don’t smell it, and it’s believed to have healing properties. Good night 💤
