Wedding Anniversary Month, poem from 2020

My Love 22 April 2020
My love,
He gets better with age
My love she’s a magnificent communicator
My love cares every moment
Our love is One
Support and Freedom weaving their way
Into a stronger container of space for all needs.
Our love is continuous so long as we nurturer it.
Our love expands into the freedom that we give it.
Our love never stagnant goes on and on
Because we are always growing and changing.

Version two
34 years of love
love becoming better with age
age matures us, therefore growing in communication
communication intensifies care
caring about unity while still uniquely our own.
Own and embrace our support and freedom
freedom fills each space and need with a respectful quality
quality love is continuous
continuously on the move
move this love
love ever expanding
expanding and never stagnant
stagnation stays behind as love goes on and on.

This is our anniversary month of 39 years now and as I am going through my old journals I thought I would share any poems of love I find along the way. I post them as they are without much editing. Love still feels the same way and even better. Here’s to my Love and our life.

Take care

  2. What a touching way to honor the rhythm of love, Morag. Your poem beautifully captures not only the endurance of time but the quiet grace of two souls learning, unlearning, and becoming together. I love how you describe love as both support and freedomβ€”a balance that many seek but few sustain so naturally. There’s a calm wisdom in your words that makes love feel like something alive, something that breathes and grows alongside you.

What moved me most is how your poem reveals that lasting love isn’t just about two peopleβ€”it’s about what envelops them. Over time, the bond becomes like a gentle veil that wraps around their two hearts, allowing them to move as one while still remaining beautifully themselves. That image reminds us that love, when nurtured with patience and freedom, doesn’t fadeβ€”it deepens, softens, and becomes the quiet strength that carries both hearts forward.

  3. “love ever expanding…”. Wonderful! My wife and I celebrated our 53rd anniversary last December….and we’d been dating for over 5 years before we married. Yes….”never stagnant….”. πŸ™
