My Friday Studio:Sitting in My studio

Today was a time for mostly resting and connecting; connecting with my old journals as I puttered around. It’s only as we slow down that we find the gems to share with each other. That was today’s studio time.

When I sit…

When I sit in the sun
By the window
Slowly sipping my tea
I feel the steam
Warm against my forehead
And life is all aglow.

I breathe silently
And I wonder why
we don't live
In the moment more
Why we drive ourselves
On to the next and the next
And the next Thing...

I sink my body
Back into the pillow
And I hear the words
'rest my child,
Rest a while,
Drink tea and breathe,
Let your body unwind
And flow your heart
Let your mind
Take rest.

As you drain the cup
Let that last sip

Be the drip
Signaling
"Come to the Citadel
Draw from the well
And be refreshed
Again"'

Low grade chronic stress is a killer… Of creativity, of friendships and of life. My challenge to myself and you is to make time to foster and cherish your life enough to live in the moment more. And you draw from the well. Whatever you do, do it with grace and space this weekend.

Have a lovely weekend πŸ’•

  1. My first visit to you since my break, Morag, …I swear,.. is it sheer coincidence?… a poem I did on Monday contains the very words you end with here, … space and grace, … great minds do think alike, (πŸ˜‰)β€¦πŸ’™πŸ€—
