A Friend Indeed…

In times of trials
A friend's visit
Is comforting. 
We need each other 
In sickness 
And health, 
Not just in marriage 
But with friendships too.
When solitude 
Brings only 
Crazy thoughts 
A friend's visit 
Is supportive too.
Friends are more
Than a welcome distraction
They are my clan.

Thank you for all the different ways you have been supportive and encouraging, over the years, whether in person, online or blogger friends.  I appreciate each one of you.

I should return to posting soon after my minor surgery.

  7. I love this poem and the idea of a clan of friends (although the word “clan” has taken on horrific connotations here in the USA due to domestic terrorism by the Ku Klux Klan). I’ve been dealing with a new health situation/challenge recently, and staying connected with an inner circle of friends (and family) has been very comforting. May your minor surgery go well tomorrow! ps: Any surgery seems somewhat major to me…

    • Goodness, I wasn’t fully aware of the clan having a negative connotation 🫢
      I’m sorry to hear that you are dealing with a new health challenge but I am glad you have an inner circle that can support and comfort you. You are right any surgery is daunting… Putting oneself into the hands of another takes huge trust. Thank you for taking the time to comment 🤗
