We walked in the wind – Soul poem

I write poetry which I call soul poems because I don’t follow any poetry rules. I just follow my heart and say what’s immediately felt or experienced or perceived. Often it is about a life experience which I have grappled with and other times its just a reflection of the world around me. I want my expression to be authentic. It might not all make sense to you (my audience) but you can take from it whatever you perceive to be meaningful, or leave it, I don’t mind. It is always my hope that I will inspire through what I communicate and that you will be blessed in some way.

We walked in the wind - Soul poem 31 05 2023

We walked in the wind:
Fresh breeze blowing
The summer warmth
Ahead of it along with
The scent of the blossomed fields
And the song of the air.

Down by the brook
Millions of midges danced,
Skimming the water shimmering with sunlight while bird and bee jived contentedly

Thin streamers of weak sun stroked my shoulders with the palest of yellow
While the ice blue breeze
Pinched my extremities
Beckoning me back
To my home inside.
The home inside
Where I am loved
Accepted
And held.

Take Care,

A warm smile coming your way.

    • Thank you 😊midges /midgies/ miggies (last one afrikaans) =they are tiny squat flies that bite. They are well known in Scotland. Different to mosquitoes but also live in low lying watery areas and come out in summer mostly.
