My happy place, playing with colour and line.

Journal entry:
Life is like a plant with a tangle of stems, all good, even although they are going all over the show – because life is messy like that; but it still grows in a direction. My direction is light, like the plant.
Take care, till next time.
Awesome art studio, Morag and loved your post nice to be working with plants and be like them in all their niceness. Superb post.

A beautiful entry that goes with the painting. True, life sometimes is messy like the branches but all parts still important. Keep following the light like the plant.

You are so well rounded artistically! I would love to start painting, but I love writing more…but maybe I should start somewhere?

Yes πthere many ways to start. If you are someone who enjoys other people in groups a class could suit you but if, like me, you prefer exploring new ventures on your own then you could try something from your home. I have written and drawn since a child but my first suggestion is.. If you keep a journal, which I think you do, just to start by sketching a scene or two from your dreams one or twice a week or if you prefer drawing meaningful objects around your home or garden. (by meaningful I mean something you treasure or that continually catches your eye) Then it is easy to take a further step when you feel like it by putting colors to your sketches with pencil crayon or colored pens or a dab of watercolor. Thank you for visiting π€

Thankful for your thorough suggestions and encouragement…maybe I will venture out in 2021?

Yes, hopefully something will inspire you in a direction. I am sure you have it in you. π

My mother’s paintings are all around me, always looking at her.

Do you find them encouraging you to try venturing in an artistic direction or do feel that you would not be able to do the same? I ask because my mother’s art is up on my walls and for many years I some how felt inferior to her. It is only recently that I have embraced my art and accepted it for the gift God gave me.

I identify with the second notion of your comment…my Maman was bigger than life to me but now she visits me in dreams, I think, to encourage me…

Oh that’s wonderful to feel encouraged by her in your dreams π
