Friday Comfort:

There is a powerful connection between our emptiness and our ability to welcome it.

Henri Nouwen.

Friday used to be family day in our home but now it is our friendship day. Whatever brings you joy I hope that you will experience those comforts; be it family, friends, or some special ritual that uplifts and refreshes you at the end of the week. After working the whole week we find it is refreshing to stop and do something different. We look forward to it the whole week. It is like the pause between the in breath and the out breath. It is the emptiness before you fill your lungs again, so to speak. Let’s welcome that pause. Welcome the emptiness and be refreshed.

May you have a refreshing weekend.

Take Care

  1. Thank you, Morag, for your thoughtful musing. My Friday is always taken with publishing my post, so there is quite a bit of work to be done before I can relax and enjoy the lovely comments!

    • Thank you for your message, (Friday morning we do do work but we finish up with Pilates, so like you say building ourselves up, then we normally spend late afternoon and evening together with family or friends πŸŒΉπŸ’– Yes πŸ‘ I took the Pic while we were traveling to Jasper. We found ourselves there late afternoon, after traveling from Calgary and Banff. It was so special. I am told that it is very busy there now and that we were lucky to have the lake almost to ourselves. πŸ˜‰

      • Oh that must have been amazing! Now coming from South Africa I have never learned to ski. 😊
So we were there late October… maybe that is why it wasn’t busy.

We had come from South Africa for business and we had 5 days to spare so we just went on a quick road trip. By the time we got to Jasper I didn’t want to go back. I just wanted to stay forever. πŸ˜€

  2. I love Fridays because I have my art class in Posadas village in the evenings. There are about 11 of us, so apart from a creative day with lots of music accompanied by the enthusiastic swaying of hips and paintbrushes, it certainly is a friendship day too! (Problem is that my car’s broken down, so I wasn’t been able to go yesterday!)
Have a very good weekend too! xxx

  3. Friday evenings are best spent around a fire. During summer it’s outside for a braai and winter time we’re moving inside next to the fire place while putting comfort food together in the kitchen and enjoying a glass of red wine. Sometimes we have friends over, but most of the time it’s just the two of us – reflecting over a week that was, unwinding and just be πŸ”₯.
What a beautiful photo you have with this post … absolutely magic!

    • Yes the fire is the best! We always say Friday is braai day but we braai sometimes 2 or 3 times during the week because we eat at lunch time and if the weather is nice why not😁 your Friday evenings sound perfectly peaceful.

  4. What a lovely idea and I loved the way you described it too. A very beautiful time to be with and enjoy friends, like taking a breath in and out – the time in between. Gorgeous!! Blessings β€οΈπŸ€—πŸ¦‹
