Soul Poem: Why – to breathe is a luxury

Explanation: I am currently following a 5 day writing challenge and this was part of two exercises. Recently I saw some images on the news which upset me. In my exercises I was presented Rumi’s poem: Some kiss we want and Camille T. Dangy’s poem Characteristics of life and then I wrote this response to what I had seen.

Soul poem: Why - to breathe is a luxury

I speak for the underneathness
Of all these people forgotten as an inconvenience
The convenience of distance separates “us”
As their lives are burning on the shores
Burning up in the sun
While we focus on what is current.
Does God look down, does he smile or weep
Does he have hands or feet
or voice but ours
For the terrorized, forgotten, and forsaken souls
Crying for a drop of water
And a crumb to eat?
Where is the redemption
Where is the victory
Where is the LOVE these people need,
If not coming from us?
I speak for those people
I stand and intercede for them
For they no longer have breath to breathe
As their lungs have caked and dried
And their skin and flesh have fried.
I speak for those that could not
Find a way HOME
For repose

Oh World,
Kiss the Window
if you want
I shall face
The language,
Looking through window.
Kiss my language
If you want
I stay curious,
Looking to the moon
““Moon Breath”
Breathe into me
Your gentle kindness”
And she replies
“Use the window
As a language of kindness,
Your love is not romantic;
It is kind and lovely;
Your language is not harsh
It is kind and lovely.”
Gazing at me in my pain
Even if I pretend to smile,
 And she smiles.
I reply:
“The sun may burn
But you want healing
Bring me insight
In what to do,
Always what to do.
As “being” may not be enough
There must Be a response!
What is my response?
There must be a response
For a way back home
For repose.

Thank you for reading and have a nice day.
as always a warm smile coming your way.
