Weary

"Why is my soul so tired?"
I ask myself, the Weary one.
"Because I poured my heart and soul out.
Now I have run dry," Weary one Answered.
"Was it worth running dry?
To give so much that there was no sustenance left for yourself?", I asked again.
"I am not sure."
Bowing her head she continued:
"It seemed like the right thing at the time.
I was just acting in the moment,
responding without evaluating.
I didn't stopped to ask" she replied.
"Ask what?" I whispered.
"to Ask ""what am I doing here? Is this building into my highest purpose?""
"what happened as a result?," I asked the Weary one.
"I squandered my time, my energy. and passion on lesser things.
It was fun at the time.
It was challenging too.
But as Saint Ignatius said
""you must learn to discern the best
from all the good choices,
and do what's best"".
So now I just sits,
without thought or passion. "
I am empty and I have much to receive"
"then all is not lost!" I smiled at her
"Go fill your cup
compassionately."

It is soon to be weekend, may you compassionately fill your cup too
cheers, Morag

Here are some ways I fill my cup. What do you do?

  1. I woke up from a dream where I was so tired I could hardly move and I cried and cried…then I read your beautiful work and I was amazed…We are being told something ..I will reread and ponder…God bless you ,friend…How do two people a world away seem so connected ..Maybe we are related?

    • Thank you so much. I appreciate the blessings too. I had to look up where County of Armagh was and I read that there are lots of apple orchards. I am hoping to grow some fruit trees in my garden and one of them will an apple tree… Also want an elderberry plant/tree. πŸŒ³πŸŽπŸŒ³πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈπŸ™

  2. I have been the “weary one” so many times in the past. I am continuing to learn to think before I volunteer, especially now that I have some physical limitations. I have learned that sometimes I need to rest because my needs are now more complex with my back and leg problems. Great blog post. Thank you!
