Slow down my Soul
December is upon us
we have experienced
first snow of the season
weather waits for no-one
one afternoon we left
the house - little flakes
fell to the ground
and melted
We arrived at our destination
white blanketing the world
what an amazing frosty adventure!
My Soul is grateful
for this season
time to reflect
time to embrace
empty space of possibilities
the space of "More"
more quiet, more rest, more room
to grow, to unwind, to see
My time to slow down
to breathe
to know there is another...
day.
We all work so hard
moving to the frenetic drum
beat.
Doing more, achieving more,
not realizing there is more
space within;
in-between the beats are spaces
rest, Rest, REST.
We need it.
Wintering your own way
to health
to happiness
to peace.
Wishing you Wellness.
– Morag Noffke
I love this. Just as light needs darkness, summer needs winter. We need the balance of it all. Beautiful piece, Morag.

I was for about 10 days in the Cape, and fortunately not close to the fires that was happening in Cape Town. We totally escaped all of that as we only left and December from Johannesburg and spend about 10 glorious days out in the beauty of Stanford thatβs very close to Hermanus and Gansbaai.

Beautiful poem!!! I love the way you describe your winter experience. This is a great reminder for us to rest during the “hibernation” season of winter. It’s important to slow down! βοΈπ
