Morning Air
Sounds rapping
At my waking
Rains came last night
I open the window wide
Cool air rushes in
Distant sheep bleating
Four-by-four revving
Farmer herding cows
Doves coo
Baby birds chirp
For breakfast
Dogs bark
In the park
Owners muffled
Conversations
Swirl upward
Adult birds
Dive and swoop
Beaks and belliesΒ
Will be filled soon
Time for me
To start my day
Morning observations tune my heart and mind into things around me. The surrounding farm life keeps me in touch with the earth before I dive and swoop through my day.
May we realize we are blessed.

What a wonderful scene to wake up to, Morag! I get the bird song and dog barks here, but also the sounds of the morning commuters and school busses. City life… π

Ah yes, the commuters, the ambulance, police and firetrucks too… I think I try to block it out. We have children on school holidays playing in the streets as well. Village life woven into the farms.
Thank you for your reflection. Have a nice day
