Living With Gratitude

The landscape, frosted white and crisp
With dark branches reaching towards the misty sky
Like black gloved fingers only just visible say 'hi'
While foggy strata conceal things,
Valley veiled.
And as the sun appears, o'er the hills,
Melting frost: rooves drip and crows craw,
Owners whistle and call...
For their dogs.
Tis peace and contentment
That envelope my week.
Today I think of all
The souls, living and dead
That have blessed my life,
Taught me good things,
Encouraged me to be more me ~
It's a time of accepting
With gratitude in my heart
For all of them/you
As I journey into winter.

As we greet November I think of the past month. October was a short blast of autumn; winds, rain and cold came upon us dramatically. I finished my berm-garden in front of the house; I changed like the autumn leaves, gaining new insights and I dug deep into the history of my ancestry.

We must keep loving living, for the sake of those that suffer we must be strong and share our gifts with the world, whatever they may be.

Have a good week

  1. A beautiful poem, Morag. You capture that feeling of fall changing to winter and the melancholy that comes with that. πŸ™‚

We’re still having unseasonably warm weather here and I’m ready for it to cool off a little bit!

Wishing you a creative week, my friend. 🌺
