Everything that happens…

Everything that happens to you has the potential to deepen you. It brings to birth within you new territories of the heart

John O’ Donohue

A lot has happened in my life and I am sure a lot has happened in yours too. New territories of the heart, I suspect, have been born. Wouldn’t it be grand to be able to sit around a big round table and share and collaborate.

All unfolds
as it should,
piece by piece,
peace by peace...
All the pieces of our worlds
come together
in puzzle like forms.
Some difficult,
some rewarding and satisfying,
some saddening
but I am glad
for all the pieces
in my life
because they bring birth
to new territories
so cherished
It is hard to describe.

I hope you are well, or at least birthing new territories. Take care.

  1. Dear Morag,  I want you to know how wonderful this is. And yes, I am a changed person. And my faith is deeper because of all that has happened since I lost my Love. And it is no co-incidence that you sent me a John O’Donohue  quote. I found one in Nov 2021 that spoke of those who go before us helping and guiding us. It struck me like lightning for some reason. The very next month I would recall it and be open to that possibility. I will be sharing your poem with the writing group on Wednesday and yes, one day we will drink tea and tell of our lives and how wonderful that the Spirit brought us together. You have blessed me today and tomorrow’s kindnesses will include your writing to me if that is O.K. God bless,Sharon

  2. I have found that there are painful, sad, disruptive times in our lives. But through them or because of them, the happy, peaceful, experiences help us appreciate the beauty, wisdom, love, and joy even more substantial and more enjoyed.

  3. Dear Morag, I’d be happy to sit at that table with you & your guests here & once we’d all introduced ourselves, I would hope that the table could be folded away & we could mingle! Your poem is wonderful. 💐🙋‍♂️
